Michael S. Romberg, MD is Board Certified with over 30 years of experience in general surgery. An undergrad of the University of Chicago, he received his medical degree from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine and completed his internship and residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center.
Dr. Romberg specializes in a full-range of general and cancer surgery procedures. Dr. Romberg’s oncology expertise includes lung surgery, lumpectomy, mastectomy, thoracoscopy, mediastinoscopy, and was instrumental in bringing sentinel node biopsy to Ingalls Memorial Hospital. He was one of the first in the area to receive certification to perform this lymph node-sparing procedure.
A keynote speaker for healthcare professionals, patients and the community on various topics as cancer, diabetes, wound care and more ... Dr. Romberg is an engaging public speaker with a depth of knowledge and personable speaking style that keeps the attention of audiences as he possesses the rare ability to simplify the subject matter in order to yield an ease of understanding.
Dr. Romberg also specializes in Wound Care and Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT), a medical treatment which enhances the body's natural healing process by inhalation of 100% oxygen in a total body chamber, where atmospheric pressure is increased and controlled.
